Greetings! I am the Art Librarian at Purchase College, SUNY. I am thrilled to be here at Purchase where the arts are an integral part of the academic experience and creativity abounds. I originally hail from New Jersey but I came to Purchase from Frostburg State University, in Western Maryland, where I was the Visual Arts Reference and Instruction Librarian.  I have also held positions at the National Gallery of Art Library and University of Maryland’s Art and Architecture Library, where I earned my master’s degree in library and information science in 2009. I am also a myMETRO Researcherand secretary of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of ARLIS (Art Libraries Society of North America).

As the art librarian I oversee collection development, reference, and library instruction for art history, art & design, new media, and arts management. I also engage in a number of library-wide duties such as:

  • coordinating library workshops for faculty & staff
  • creating video tutorial and research guides (libguides) for various academic disciplines and library skills
  • managing the Visual Resources Center
  • supervising the digitization of Purchase College student publications
  • serving on the Communications Committee
  • assessing information literacy among Purchase College seniors
  • assisting with LibQUAL
