I've created many undergraduate research guides for Purchase College Library using LibGuides. By bringing together subscription databases, the library catalog, websites, images and more, these guides act as a one-stop gateway for undergraduate research. My guides include: Anthropology, Languages, Gender Studies, Journalism, Finding Multimedia, Finding Newspapers, Media Society & the Arts, Sociology, Health & Wellness, Citation, and Copyright. More topics are being added all the time.

Featured in Springy News December 2012

My presentation on SMS reference was featured in SpringShare's December Newsletter. SpringShare asked to feature statistics about our incoming text questions, tips for roving reference, and photos of our Text Us signage.

Beyond the Stacks Library Newsletter

I work with the Library Communications Committee to coordinate the publication of the biannual library newsletter, "Beyond the Stacks." This newsletter comes out once a semester and is intended for faculty & staff. My responsibilities have included: collecting news items; editing content; laying out newsletter in Adobe Illustrator; working with commercial printers; distributing newsletters across campus.

Purchase College Library on Facebook

As an admin for the Library's Facebook page, I use social media to keep our patrons updated on library news, events, photos, interesting research, and tidbits.

Tutorial for College Writing

A team of instruction librarians and I created a series of online tutorials to be used in conjunction with freshman writing classes. In particular, I worked on the tutorials about Finding Books in the Library Catalog and Accessing Course Reserves.

Purchase College Library Flickr Photostream

I update and help manage the library's Flickr account. See the album "Around the Library" for photos of Purchase College Library. This Flickr account helps us advertise the library to our patrons via Facebook and our blog, but it also serves as an online gallery for Purchase College librarians who want to use stock photos of library spaces in LibGuides, blogs, etc.

Text Us How-To

This how-to guide explains our text message reference service which was implemented in March 2011. This is also an example of how we use LibAnswers to create FAQs for common reference questions.

Oral History Project-- Wisconsin Veterans Museum

Here is an example of an abstract I wrote for the Oral History Project at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Research Center. This detailed abstract and catalog record act as a finding aid for researchers deciding whether to listen to a complete, tape-recorded interview with a Wisconsin veteran.

UW Madison Library Access Midwest Blog (Spring 2010)

I maintained this blog as a Project Assistant for the Library Access Midwest Program (LAMP) at UW-Madison. LAMP provides scholarships and mentoring to students from minority backgrounds who are pursuing a Masters in Library Science.
