Dr. Chrys Ingraham is Professor and Coordinator of Sociology, Latin American Studies, and serves as Faculty Coordinator for International Initiatives at Purchase College, State University of New York. She will chair a faculty senate committee on campus accessibility for the 2013-2014 academic year. In addition to a variety of book chapters and journal articles in prominent publications, Dr. Ingraham is the author of White Weddings: Romancing Heterosexuality in Popular Culture (Routledge, 1999, 2008, 2014), editor of Thinking Straight: The Power, the Promise, and the Paradox of Heterosexuality (Routledge, 2005), and co-editor of Materialist Feminism: A Reader in Class, Difference, and Women’s Lives (Routledge, 1997).  Her current research includes an institutional ethnography on organizational turnaround in higher education and another on the everyday lived experience of accessibility.
