AMG.4990.42 - Senior Project in Arts Management

The Senior Project, required of all undergraduate students, is the culminating learning experience of undergraduate studies at Purchase College, SUNY.  In Arts Management, students contribute to and advance knowledge through their Senior Projects.  Students also synthesize the knowledge and experiences they have gained while displaying an understanding of issues affecting the arts and entertainment industry. 

AMG.3980.42 - Off-Campus Internship in Arts Management

The off-campus internship provides students with professional experience based on an area related to their interests.  Students may choose to work with an off-campus organization in the arts and entertainment industry including arts organizations, record or film production companies, among others.  Upon completion of this course, students will have a better understanding of their career options in Arts Management.

AMG.3880.20 - Junior Seminar in Arts Management: Senior Project Planning

This course prepares students to complete their senior projects in Arts Management by strengthening their analytic, writing, and research skills.  Students will conceptualize their senior project proposals through an intensive examination of arts management research while increasing their awareness of issues challenging the creative sector.  After completing this course, students will have prepared a solid Senior Project proposal.

 

AMG.1100.20 - Introduction to Arts Management

This introductory survey course provides an overview of arts management, preparing students for upper-level course work in the arts management program.  Topics include arts leadership and management philosophy, organizational structure, accounting practices, strategic planning and programming, marketing and public relations, fundraising and development, sponsorship, volunteerism, grants, and arts and entertainment law.  This course stresses the importance of management principles and their application to the visual and performing arts.
